A fire broke out in the geriatric department of a Hospital in Hamburg, in the north of Germany, caused the death of at least three people and the injury of others. The local firefighters made it known.
The flames started from a room in the Marienkenhaus hospital around midnight and threatened to propagate quickly to the first floor through the external facade, reported the spokesman for firefighters Lorenz Hartmann.
The firefighters managed to tame the stake quickly, but not enough to prevent the death of three patients. Among the hospitalizations there were patients with reduced mobility and this complicated the rescue operations.
The causes of the fire have not yet been ascertained.
