The first degree sentence arrives for the violent shooting that terrorized the seafront in the urban area of Rossano last summer. The Court of Castrovillari issued a sentence of 6 years and 6 months in prison to 58-year-old Francesco De Vincenti, defended by the lawyer Francesco Nicoletti. The guilty verdict issued by the Pollino court judge significantly scales back the requests made by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which had called for a much more severe sentence, equal to 10 years and 4 months of imprisonment. To find out the details and legal steps that guided the Court in determining the sentence, we will have to wait for the next 90 days, the deadline set for filing the reasons for the sentence. The facts at the center of the trial date back to the night of 16 June 2025, right at the start of the summer season, when a real fire action took place on the seafront of S. Angelo.
