In the last three days, the Crotone area has been affected by a new wave of migratory flows, with the occurrence of two separate landings which saw the arrival on the local coasts of several migrants, including several women and minors.

Coordination of ground procedures

The management of the complex procedures on the ground was brilliantly coordinated by the Prefecture of Crotone, which operated through the Immigration Office of the local Police Headquarters to guarantee the correct and timely carrying out of all the necessary activities.

Identification and initial reception

The migrants who arrived in the area, after having completed the required identification and photo-signalling procedures under the aegis of the Immigration Office of the Crotone Police Headquarters with the support of local forensic police personnel, were welcomed at the First Reception Center of Isola di Capo Rizzuto.

Administrative controls and rejection measures

In parallel with the assistance and identification activities, strict controls aimed at verifying the administrative position of individual foreign citizens were implemented. As a result of these investigations, the Police Commissioner of the Province of Crotone, Renato Panvino, issued 21 rejection orders, with a simultaneous order to leave the national territory, against as many foreigners who did not intend to request international protection.

Continuous monitoring of the Ionian coast

The State Police continues to monitor the situation with the utmost attention, to protect the security of the territory and in full compliance with current immigration regulations, carrying out day and night checks along the coast of the Ionian strip, also collaborated by other police forces and specialized maritime bodies.
