The big day has arrived: Lewis Hamilton makes his Ferrari debut on the Fiorano track. A historic event that many fans of the Red team did not want to miss, who despite the cold and fog (present in the early hours of the morning) crowded the spaces adjacent to the track with flags, banners and chants for the seven-time world champion but also for Charles Leclerc .
Hamilton started running this morning, then will give way to the Monegasque. The two will alternate driving the SF-23 and the F1-75. It is therefore not the new car which will be presented on February 19th (the London event on the 18th where all the new team liveries will be revealed), but it is still a way to gain or regain confidence with the track in view of the World Championship which will take place on the weekend of March 16th in Melbourne.
Hamilton’s scheduled outing at Fiorano falls within what the sporting regulations define as TPC, an acronym for Testing of Previous Cars, i.e. the tests with cars from past years. In these circumstances, teams can use single-seaters that are at least 2, 3 or 4 years old, in this case dating back to 2021, 2022 or 2023.
