Sensational at the Stadium, where already relegated Verona held Juventus to a 1-1 draw. Bowie broke the deadlock for the guests in the first half, while Vlahovic equalized from a free kick in the second half. Spalletti’s team failed to catch up with Milan, defeated by Sassuolo in the afternoon, and now they also have to watch their backs. There is only Juventus on the pitch at the start of the match. Spalletti’s men created one opportunity after another, including Bremer’s cross from Kalulu’s cross shortly after the halfway point of the first half. The fort of a Verona with no more motivation, however, resists. In the end, it was the Scaligeri who took the lead in the 34th minute with the first real away chance of the match. Bremer’s mistake on the right, Bradaric takes advantage of it to serve Bowie, who receives it in the area and beats Di Gregorio at the near post. Bowie is scary shortly after, when Bernede tries to serve him vertically: Kelly saves everything. Juve began to press again, but were unable to find an equalizer before half-way through the match. We go to half-time with the result 0-1. Spalletti decides that it’s time to play the Vlahovic card, returning after a long absence due to injury.
The Bianconeri return to the pitch and immediately restart their assault on the opponent’s half of the field. David and Mckennie scored two goals, but it was the new arrival for the Bianconeri who equalized about a quarter of an hour into the second half. Free kick for Juventus, Vlahovic appears on the ball and takes advantage of Montipò’s pass towards the center to kick onto the post defended by the Verona goalkeeper. Montipò redeems himself immediately afterwards, avoiding Juventus’ overtaking with a double miracle in the space of a few seconds, both times on Conceicao, served on two close occasions by Cambiaso. There is only Juve until the final whistle, but Verona’s fort, even if it creaks, continues to hold up to the Juventus attacks. In full recovery, the newly entered Zhegrova hits the second woodwork of the match. It ends 1-1, a misstep for Juventus in the race for the Champions League. Milan remains third, and now Roma can get closer to the Bianconeri.
