A motorist deliberately hit several people in several locations on the island of Oléron, on the Atlantic coast of France, injuring at least ten people, four of them seriously, before being arrested. This was announced by the prosecutor’s office. An investigation has been opened for “attempted murder”. “A 35-year-old man, resident of Oléron, deliberately hit several pedestrians and cyclists on a road between Dolus d’Oléron and Saint-Pierre d’Oléron,” said Arnaud Laraize, prosecutor of La Rochelle. Upon arrest, the suspect shouted “Allahu Akbar” (God is great), the magistrate said.
