New reply from the 5 Star Movement to the President of the Region Roberto Occhiuto, after the statements made by the governor towards the opposition. The speakers are the deputy Anna Laura Orrico, regional coordinator of the M5S, and the president of the five-star council group Elisa Scutellà, who dispute the tone and content of the governor’s statements.
For Orrico, the observations of the Court of Auditors on healthcare, the request for clarification made by the opposition and the judicial investigation involving the President of the Region are issues that deserve answers on the merits. «Eager to get out of the corner, he once again indulges in indecent statements. Verbal violence not in keeping with its institutional profile”, states the parliamentarian.
The Calabrian coordinator of the M5S therefore invites the governor to focus on the problems of regional healthcare, citing the essential levels of assistance, the debt situation of the ASPs, the Pnrr funds intended for health homes and community hospitals, in addition to the waiting lists. “President, when will you report to the Regional Council instead of in some video without cross-examination?”, he asks.
The stance of regional councilor Elisa Scutellà also lasts, calling it “shameful and unseemly” the fact that a regional president addresses opposition councilors by calling them “losers”. «If President Occhiuto wants a silent and submissive opposition, he will never find it on this side», states the group leader of the 5 Star Movement, assuring that the control action against the Council will continue.
