A very sweet kitten, in the last few days, was hit by a car in one of the streets of the center of Mazzarrà Sant’Andrea. The little four-legged friend suffered fractures to his hind limbs and pelvis.
Collected by the Municipal Police personnel, the kitten was taken in charge by the Municipality which is covering the necessary expenses to guarantee him all the necessary care. The kitten was entrusted to the San Pietro Veterinary Clinic in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, where he will be guaranteed all the necessary attention even in the post-operative phase. Once he returns to his full functionality, the kitten will be ready to receive the affection of a potential family who wants to adopt him.
But that’s not all. The Municipality of Mazzarrà Sant’Andrea also took care of a little dog which, last Sunday evening, during the celebrations of the Patron Saint Maria SS delle Grazie, was found by Chief Inspector Francesco Rundo and Traffic Auxiliary Domenica Roberta Italiano. Having no news about the owner and the dog not having a microchip, the same was entrusted to a woman through the Association of Friends of Animals of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto.
“After receiving the report from the Municipal Police, we decided to give all the help we could to these small defenseless creatures – said Mayor Carmelo Pietrafitta – Respect for animals is an important value on which our culture and our community identity must be based. We can’t wait for our little kitten to be back in perfect shape so we can entrust him to the affection and care of whoever requests it. Luck has already touched the little dog found wandering while our town was celebrating”.
