Talents, entrepreneurial resources and Sicilian landscape at the twenty-second Kinéo Award, a historic collateral event of the Film Festivalthis evening at the Hotel Ca’ Sagredo. Yesterday the press conference during which they were various awards announced: Best Comedy to «Santocielo» by Francesco Amato, latest work by Salvo Ficarra and Valentino Piconeproduced by Palermo-based Tramp Limited with Medusa Film and filmed between Catania and the Messina location of Montalbano Elicona. The award was collected by Medusa CEO Giampaolo Letta, producer Attilio De Razza and co-producer Tramp Limited Nicola Picone, Valentino’s brother.

«In Montalbano Elicona we found the location imagined in the screenplay – he told us – An isolated town on the hills, with a historic center that represents Sicily in the early twentieth century. It was good to film there also for the hospitality we received: everything stopped for a week and the inhabitants made themselves available for any of our needs. Catania instead gave us the opportunity to tell the story of a different city, far from stereotypes: a place where the angel played by Valentino was supposed to arrive could only be magical».

At the Show in the cast of the Rai event series «Leopardi – The poet of the infinite» by Sergio Rubini (Lifetime Achievement Award), the actress from Menfi (Agrigento) Giusy Buscemi receives the Best Actress award for «Vanina – Un vicequestore a Catania»the RTI-Palomar fiction based on the best-selling novels by the Netina writer Cristina Cassar Scalia (Einaudi). «Vanina arrived at a time when I felt I had grown as a woman and allowed me to explore new nuances of my work as an actress, tackling a very lively character and rediscovering the dialect – said Buscemi – . On the one hand she is a girl who wants to live her 30 years, on the other, marked by the death of her father, she wears an armor that hides her fragility».

A part of Sicily also in the film “Sei nell’anima”the biopic about Gianna Nannini, which won multiple awards: Best Director Cinzia Th Torrini, Young Revelation Noemi Brando and Best Leading Actress Letizia Toni. The actress from Pistoia was followed on the set by coach Giuseppe Ferlito, director from Burgio (Agrigento) and her teacher at the Florentine school Cinema Immagina, who directed her in the film “Re Minore”.
