«Messina, city of villages, is not an electoral slogan, it is the commitment made in recent years and which now, in the next five years, will bear concrete fruit throughout the municipal territory». Federico Basile begins his final sprint towards the administrative elections of 24 and 25 May, starting again with the last round of the Municipalities. «After having illustrated, in the previous stages, what has been achieved from 2018 to today and the points of the 2026-2031 program – explains the outgoing mayor, candidate of South calls North –, the tour has now entered its final phase with a new series of appointments in the seven wards. A path based on listening, presence and constant discussion, which crossed the neighborhoods of Messina with the aim of building a direct dialogue with the territory and sharing ideas, projects and visions for the future of the city. “Messina city of villages” is one of the qualifying points of our program, a project that includes all the policies dedicated to administrative decentralization, in the wake of the work started from 2018 to today. A vision that puts territories, neighborhoods and villages at the centre, strengthening the direct relationship with citizens and consolidating a path that has already led to the birth of the VII Municipality, a commitment that we made in the aftermath of the referendum on Montemare and which we have maintained. We have laid the foundations for the Districts to fully become the first operational arm of the Municipality in the area”, continues Basile.
