“We have no doubt about the fact that the Regional Councilor for Public Works Caracciolo has daily discussions with RFI, but instead there are serious doubts and perplexities about the profitability of such meetings, given the continuing state of degradation of the Calabrian railway network, and in particular of the Ionian line, which despite the substantial funding allocated by the former centre-left Regional Council for its electrification is suffering from intolerable delays to the exclusive disadvantage of citizens”. Mayor Franz says so Carusoalso in the name and on behalf of the Technical/Political Committee Committee specially established and composed, as is now known, of many other mayors, university professors and expert technicians.

“Nevertheless – continues Franz Caruso – the reassurances reported in his last speech on the existence of financing and on the desire to create the Sa-RC high-speed railway as decided and financed with PNRR and the complementary fund referred to in Legislative Decree 59/21 by the government Draghi, are absolutely superficial and misleading especially when related to the silence that characterizes Governor Occhiuto on the subject. On the contrary, we are currently aware of the Pnrr financing of the already contracted lot 1a Battipaglia – Romagnano, and the financing from AdP/F/C for the doubling of the Santomarco Tunnel. For the rest we know that in the final report on the public debate of lots 1b and 1c Romagnano – Buonabitacolo and Buonabitacolo – Praja the RFI itself states that there is no adequate financing, just as there is no longer any trace of the Praia – Tarsia – Montalto section no financial stakes can be seen for the Praja – Paola relationship”.

“So councilor Caracciolo – concludes Mayor Franz Caruso – either supports his statements with official acts, rules and documents, or, instead, to spread inaccuracies and try to create confusion, he works to ensure yet another mugging against Calabria and the South is not carried out with impunity”.
