This morning, Sunday 22 September, the Calabria Alpine and Speleological Rescue – CNSAS was activated by the 118 Operations Centre for a woman in difficulty in an impervious area in the Croce di Magara area, in the municipality of Spezzano della Sila (CS) – Sila National Park.

The woman, R. M. her initials, 55 years old, resident in France but originally from the province of Cosenza, was with some family members on a walk in the mountains, when she fell, causing a suspected trauma to a lower limb which prevented her from continuing independently. Technicians and a nurse from the Sila Camigliatello Alpine Station and technicians from the Guardia di Finanza Alpine Rescue Service from the Cosenza Station arrived on site. Medical personnel from 118 were also present and took care of stabilizing the hiker.

The woman was then transported on a stretcher to the road where the ambulance was located, which took charge of her to be transported to the hospital in Cosenza.
