The 22nd edition of the Horcynus Festival is in full swing at Capo Peloro under the artistic direction of Franco Jannuzzi, Erfan Rashid, Giacomo Farina and Luigi Polimeni.

Everything is ready for the long-awaited final of the national video clip contest “Vedere la Musica”” scheduled for tonight, Thursday 1 August at 9:30 pm. The competition, now in its second edition, will award the band or artist, chosen by a jury chaired by music critic and presenter Carlo Massarini, who will participate in the evening.

In addition to Massarini, the jury is composed of director Cristian Bisceglia, Carmelo Guglielmino, record producer and founder of CDF Records and Maurizio Gugliotta, CEO of EarOne.

In the last few days the five finalists were announced, who come from Sicily, Liguria, Veneto and Campania, with African and Indian presences, and are: Alassane Badboy & The Conquerors; Brigan; Fabry – T; Namritha Nori; Nòe.

The finalist video clips of “Vedere la Musica”, which were chosen from over 40 participants from all over Italy, will be screened during the final event on Thursday. An audience recognition will also be awarded, allowing the audience to express their preferences.

The winner chosen by the jury will be awarded a cash prize and will perform immediately after the announcement. During this evening, a tribute by Simonetta Pisano to the unforgettable Pippo Mafali will also be screened.

Giacomo Farina, artistic director together with Luigi Polimeni of the “Musica Nomade” section of the Horcynus Festival and one of the members of the artistic direction of the competition, declares: “The Vedere la Musica contest represents a very interesting tool for monitoring the musical ferment that exists outside of the logic of the market and its connections with the audiovisual world. We are faced with two increasingly interconnected creative tools, which also allow us to understand how contemporary music relates to other artistic expressions”.

The Festival will end on August 8th and all events, which will take place at the Horcynus Orca Park in Capo Peloro, have free admission. The HF is organized by the Horcynus Orca Foundation and the MeSSInA Foundation and with the support of: MiC, Sicilian Region, Department of Tourism, Sports and Entertainment, Sicilia Film Commission, University of Messina, Municipality of Messina, Metropolitan City of Messina, ATM – Messina Transport Company, Social Enterprise With Children.
