The XXI edition of theHorcynus Festival in Messina is about to come to an end and, yesterday evening, the winner of the contest “See the Music”: the jury composed of Charles Massarinihistoric RAI presenter and innovator, Christian Bisceglia, Maurizio Gugliotta and Carmelo Guglielminochose the Apulian group Yaraka with the video clip of the song “Shut up”. After the award ceremony, the band performed in an applauded and enthralling concert.
The spectators present voted for the 5 finalists by expressing their consent on the appropriate ballots and the audience prize went to the singer Novo.
Meanwhile, the penultimate appointment of the event, organized by the Horcynus Orca Foundation and the MeSSInA Foundation, is scheduled Saturday 5 August at 19.00 at Forte Petrazza di Camaro Superiore with the inauguration of the exhibition “La grande scala” curated by the Mud Museum, also known as the Mud Museum.
The artistic director of the Mud Museum, Michele Cannaò explains, first of all, that “The staircase is the symbol of the tragic flood of 1 October 2009 which struck Giampilieri and the Municipality of Scaletta Zanclea. This new exhibition marks the beginning of a synergistic collaboration with the MeSSInA Foundation for a new operational headquarters right here at Forte Petrazza. The exhibition presents a small part of the collection of the Mud Museum, currently present in the Castello di Montesegale headquarters, in the province of Pavia and the remaining part will be exhibited on the occasions that, over time, we will create in this splendid place”.
Gaetano GiuntaOf Messina Foundation adds: “The opening of an exhibition space in the suggestive corridor of Forte Petrazza is another important step towards the completion of the social park, as a fundamental node of ‘The Parks of Beauty and Science’, an important educational infrastructure for economic – social research and community hubs created by the MeSSInA Foundation and the Evolved Social District in the areas freed from degradation in recent years and returned to their forgotten beauty”.
There exhibition consists of 34 works by the following artists: Alvaro, Otsuka Atsuko, Giovanni Blandino, Mario Borgese, Michele Cannaò, Carmine Caputo Di Roccanova, Kazuko Date, Joxe De Micheli, Fernanda Fedi, Dario Fo, Paola Grott, Misawa Kazuko, Mari Kono , Ada Marchetti, Alfredo Mazzotta, Giuseppe Migneco, Mirella Migliorato, Claudio Militti, Roberto Molinelli, Giancarlo Nucci, Atsuko Otsuka, Nino Pracanica, Enzo Rizzo, Graziella Romeo, Tano Santoro, Filippo Scimeca, Demetrio Scopelliti, Yang Sil Lee, Pippo Spinoccia, Emilio Tadini, Nino Cannistraci Tricomi, Giacomo Trovato, Togo, Toshiko Tochihara.
The final evening of the Horcynus Festival is scheduled for Sunday 6 August in the municipality of Roccavaldina (Messina): in Piazza del Popolo from 9.30 pm a video art work from the south-eastern Mediterranean selected from the archive of the Horcynus Orca Foundation will be screened , subsequently, the comedy “If you leave me, I’ll gate you” (2004) by Michel Gondry.
