Cuccìa, a historic dish based on wheat and meat, returns as a protagonist in Casali del Manco. The new edition of the Cuccìa Festival, promoted by the municipal administration led by the mayor Francesca Pisani, will combine gastronomy, culture and music with the aim of enhancing an identity tradition and promoting the Presila and Sila territory.
The presentation press conference is scheduled for Thursday 1 October at 9.30 am at the Palazzo della Provincia di Cosenza, in the presence of the institutions.
From workshops for students to tastings in Pedace
The festival will come to life on Friday 2 October with “Mani in pasta: the history of the cuccìa and the secrets of the grains”, an educational meeting and experiential laboratory dedicated to students. An opportunity to rediscover the origins of the dish and learn about traditional Calabrian grains.
On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October the historic center of Pedace will host the heart of the event, including talks, readings and urban trekking sessions. The cultural program will be accompanied by a food and wine tour with tasting tables dedicated to cuccìa and local wine selections.
The musical program: Eman on Saturday, Speedy on Sunday
Music will accompany the two days with performances along the course and on the main stage. On Saturday 3 October Elisa Brown and Danilo Curcio will alternate, Andrea Reda Handpan and Percussion Beat and, for the evening concert, Eman.
Sunday 4 October will be the turn of G’N’G Trio and the duo composed of Riccardo Galimi and Alessandra Palmieri. Closing the musical program will be Speedy’s live performance.
The event aims to link culinary memory, training and entertainment, making the cuccìa an opportunity to learn about the village and the traditions of the area.
