The Cetraro area has been at the center of vast joint operations for weeks involving special forces from the Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza and the State Police under the coordination of the DDA and the Paola Prosecutor’s Office. The military returned several times to the Tyrrhenian center in search of Giuseppe Ferraro, believed by investigators to be the right-hand man of Giuseppe Scornaienchi, indicated as the top figure of an emerging criminal gang operating in Cetraro and neighboring towns. The searches were concentrated both in the countryside and in the historic core of the country, with widespread searches, targeted checks and checkpoints.
