Following the detection of consumer prices for the entire community (NIC), carried out by the statistics office of the Municipality of Messina, The overall index of the city recorded a tendential increase of 2.2% and conjunctural of 0.5% of the consumer price index.
Agel products and soft drinks (+4.7%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.5%), clothing and footwear (1.4%), home, water, electricity and fuels (4.1%), furniture, items and services for the home (+0.6%), health services and health services (+0.6%), recreation, shows and culture, grow. The note offers a synthetic analysis of the factors that have contributed to determining the most marked price dynamics of the centralized detection goods and services in March 2025:
Products for smokers: Due to the increase in excise, VAT and ACA, there is a economic and tendential increase in cigarettes ( +0.7%; +5.6% the tendential) and cigars and cigarettes ( +0.5%; +2.1% the trend).
Electricity and network gas: In the free market there is an economic increase in electricity ( +1.4%; +0.7% the trend) and the gas of city and natural gas ( +4.6%; +7.5% the trend). Instead, in the protected market there is only the decrease in city and natural gas gas (-9.5%; +14.6% the tendential).
Telephony and communication services: There is an economic increase in fixed broadband telephony services ( +1.2%; +0.9% the tendential) and Bundle telecommunication services ( +0.2%; +4.3% the tendential), in the face of a slight decrease in internet services on mobile network (-0.2%; -0.1% the tendential).
Pharmaceutical products: In this month there is an increase in the prices of the C – Sop OTC drugs (2%, 4.5 the trend); supplements (0.1%; 0.4% the trend).
Transport services: In air transport there is a generalized economic increase which is more accentuated in national flights (+16.0%; -2.6% the tendential) and in European ones (+15.3%; -7.0% the tendential), followed by intercontinental ones (+1.1%; -7.6% the tendential). As for intercontinental flights, the overall increase is synthesis of opposite variations: the increases are found in the sections towards Asia and America, the decreases in those towards Africa. As regards national and European flights, both low -cost and traditional vectors contribute to the economic decrease, with greater variations for the latter. There is also a slight economic increase in national rail transport prices ( +0.2%; +0.3% the tendential), due to the lower availability of commercial offers for high speed, and maritime transport ( +0.1%; +9.7% the tendential).
Tourist and recreational activities: There is a decrease in national holiday packages (-7.4%; +10.2% the trend), especially due to the mountains and art layers, against an increase in international holiday packages ( +1.0%; +8.9% the trend). Holiday villages, campsites, youth hostels and the like also increase (+1.8%;+1.9%the trend) and farmhouses (+2.3%); In the latter case, the increase is found in the northern regions. Among the recreational activities, the fun parks (-0.8%; +4.3% the tendential), the national parks, zoological gardens, botanical gardens (-0.9%; +1.1% the tendential), due to the entry into force in March of the new lists, and the resalting systems (-3.8%; +14.3%) are recorded.
Culture: The increase in newspapers with national diffusion ( +0.5%; +5.3% the trend) and periodicals ( +0.7%; +4.3% the tendential), due to an increase in price for a newspaper and for a different offer of attachments.
