MILAN – A proud and never subdued Cagliari snatched a point from Inter in the Sunday postponement of the 32nd matchday of Serie A, also coming close to a sensational feat. At San Siro it ends 2-2: the Nerazzurri go ahead twice with Thuram and Calhanoglu, but are recovered in both cases by Shomurodov first and then Viola, with the latter having another couple of chances for the match in the final point. If for Ranieri's team it is a very important point in terms of salvation (temporary +4 on the relegation zone), for Inzaghi's men it is a sweet draw which in any case does not hinder the road to the scudetto: for mathematics you need a success in the derby against Milan. A dozen minutes passed after the kick-off and the Nerazzurri immediately broke the deadlock with Thuram, who found the goal again after almost two months taking advantage of a nice assist from Sanchez. The Sardinians, however, do not allow themselves to be intimidated and with Luvumbo (the most dangerous of his) they try to scare Sommer more than once, although he has never been forced to make noteworthy interventions. Just before the half hour mark, Barella's possible second goal for Inter was cancelled, as he was the protagonist of a marvelous header from Dimarco's cross, which was made in vain by his own offside position. In the second half Inter tried to go after the second goal to make things calmer before the 90th minute, but shortly after the hour mark Shomurodov's flash from Cagliari arrived which brought the result to 1-1. So everything has to be done again for Inzaghi's team, which however comes back ahead about ten minutes later with the penalty kick from the usual Calhanoglu, whistled for a handball in the area by Mina following a header by Frattesi. Ranieri's team, however, wasn't up for it and in the 83rd minute put everything back into balance with the newly introduced Viola, who struck again when he came off the bench after a fortuitous touch from Lapadula. The Sardinian number 10 also has two other opportunities for the sensational match point, but is unable to exploit them.
