«Italy, by not correctly carrying out the request for arrest and surrender» of the Libyan general Almasri, «has not respected its international obligations» of cooperation. This was established by the preliminary chamber I of the International Criminal Court (ICC), which however decided by majority to postpone the choice on a possible referral of Italy to the assembly of States parties or to the UN Security Council. The government – we read in the document published by the ICC – will have to provide information on any relevant internal proceedings and their impact on cooperation with the Court by 31 October.
