A crowd took to the streets in Tehran for the state funeral of about sixty high -ranking soldiers and nuclear scientists killed in the 12 -day war with Israel. The Iranian media showed the images of the coffers of the victims wrapped in the Iran flag, each with the photo of the deceased, aligned on trailers of trucks surrounded by hundreds of people.
The ceremony began in the center of the Iranian capital, in the famous Piaghelab square (of the revolution). The funeral procession will then walk 11 kilometers to reach Piazza Azadi (of freedom).
The Isna agency reported that the ceremony, which also participates the Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian, began with the acting of Versetto 38 of the Sura Hajj: «In truth, Allah protects those who believe. In truth, Allah does not like any traitor and unbelievers ».
The crowd, reports the agency, has gathered along the paths designated hours before the official start of the funeral of “martyrs who led to scientific progress and improved the country’s defense and deterrence skills”.
