The Israeli army announces that it has struck Hezbollah targets in the Shiite militia stronghold south of Beiurt in Dahiyeh. Haaretz reports it. According to the Lebanese newspaper L’Orient Le jour, the raid, the second of the day in the area, occurred shortly after the end of a speech Naïm KassemHezbollah’s number two.

The IDF announced that over 100 rockets were fired by Hezbollah on the city of Haifa and in the area within half an hour. A woman was injured by shrapnel and several homes were damaged. Gaza Civil Defense announces that 17 people have been killed in an Israeli attack.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa reports that one of its correspondents said that “there were dozens of martyrs and wounded lying in the streets of Jabalya and, due to the intensity of the shelling, health workers and civil protection were not managed to reach them.”

Hezbollah’s number two, Naim Qassem, has stated that he supports efforts to reach a ceasefire with Israel. “We support the political efforts led by (Parliament Nabih) Speaker Berri which mainly aim at a ceasefire,” he said in a speech broadcast on the party’s al-Manar television.

CNN underlines that it is the first time that the group has publicly supported the path of negotiations since the beginning of the war. “Once the ceasefire is reached, diplomacy can deal with all other issues and decisions can be made collectively,” Qassem said.
