Italian ratification day at the Child Rights Convention in Vibo: success for the Unicef ​​concert

Great success for the Day of Italian ratification (1991) to the CRC, for the concert “My rights, my voice”, which took place at the council chamber of the province of Vibo Valentia. The event, promoted by the UNICEF of Vibo Valentia in collaboration with the province of Vibo Valentia, the UNPLI Calabria, the Pro Loco Vibo Città and the Equal Opportunities Committee of the Bar Association, wanted to combine music and civil commitment, offering the public an opportunity for reflection on human rights through the universal language of art.

To introduce the evening was Giusi Fanellipresident of the Equal Opportunities Committee of the Bar Association of Vibo Valentia, who also conducted the entire event with competence and sensitivity, presenting every execution with care and participation. The provincial president Unicef, Gaetano Aurelio, officially opened the music program, underlining the importance of promoting the rights of boys and girls through cultural initiatives.

The concert proposed a refined selection of arias taken from famous works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. From La Fake Giardiniera KV 196 was performed “what a beauty, which graceful” by Arturo Neri. The heart of the program was dedicated to the wedding of Figaro KV 492, with interpretations of Maria Pia Guerrera, Chiara Aracri, Zhang Ypeng and Paola Cascasi. From so fan all KV 588 was proposed “A woman to fifteen” by Maria Pia Guerrera. The concert ended with two duets from Don Giovanni KV 527: “My soul … escape, cruel, escaped!”, Interpreted by Maria Pia Guerrera and Arturo Neri, and “That mess is mine … there will give us the hand”, performed by Maria Pia Guerrera and Zhang Ypeng.
To accompany the songs on the piano, Maestro Francesco Silvestri who is to thank twice because it was he who promoted the concert.

The artists, young and talented interpreters of the local and international music scene, have been able to excite the public with intensity and professionalism, receiving warm applause at the end of each performance. The public responded with enthusiasm, wondering the room and showing great attention to the cultural and social messages of the initiative.

The evening was confirmed a virtuous example of how culture can convey fundamental values ​​such as equality, dignity and respect for rights, especially those of childhood. UNICEF and all the promoters of the event greatly thank the participants, the supporting bodies and volunteers who have made this important opportunity for sharing and awareness possible.
