Road accident in the afternoon on the Strada di Ponente, in Milazzo, near the La Fenice beach. A man originally from Bangladesh who was traveling on a bicycle was seriously injured.
According to an initial reconstruction, still being examined by the officers, the cyclist was about to enter Via Regis, at the corner with the area of ​​the former slaughterhouse, when he was hit by a car proceeding from the area of ​​the former Hump of the Camel towards the centre.
The impact was particularly violent and the cyclist was thrown onto the asphalt. Some passers-by provided first aid while waiting for the 118 emergency medical workers to arrive.
The man was initially transported to the Fogliani hospital in Milazzo. Considering the seriousness of the injuries sustained, the doctors arranged for him to be transferred by air ambulance to the Messina Polyclinic.
