Udine. Juventus begins its championship with a convincing 3-0 victory on a difficult field like that of Udinese. It all happens in the first half.
Not even time to start and the guests unlock the challenge with a play from his two forwards: Vlahovic recovers the ball taking advantage of a mistake by Zarraga, reaches the limit and unloads on Chiesa who slips Silvestri with a powerful and precise right foot. Not even the time to settle down and Juventus almost doubled through Cambiaso but the Friulian goalkeeper was waiting and saved with his feet. But the second goal was in the air and arrived in the 20th minute with a penalty kick, Ebusele’s arm in the area following a cross from Alex Sandro, converted by Vlahovic. Allegri’s team managed the match risking little or nothing, except in the second of added time of the first half when Szczesny was forced to deflect a tricky shot by Thauvin for a corner.
Before the interval, however, Juventus practically archived the practice: cross from Cambiaso, Rabiot entered behind Bijol and Silvestri holed for the third time. In the second half the pace slowed down and it was Udinese who tried in every way to get back into the game but ended up 0-3.

Atalanta resolved a complicated match at Sassuolo in the final thanks to the support of the bench who came to the rescue after a not particularly brilliant first half. In the specific case, it is above all De Ketelaere – his first goal in Serie A after a difficult year at Milan – and Scamacca, future starters, as well as the other ex, Zortea who ended the dispute after the ninetieth. De Ketelaere scored in the end, coming close to two more goals (a crossbar) in the 45 minutes he was on the pitch, guaranteeing a great contribution to the victory. Perhaps too severe a verdict for Sassuolo who held out until the 38th minute. Dionisi took some risks by introducing some of his youngsters along the way without receiving too positive responses. Atalanta came out at a distance, was able to suffer in some circumstances, but then grew by making their technical rate count. Few surprises at the start compared to the day before: Kolasinac made his debut in defense in Atalanta, while Ruggeri won the ballot with Bakker. Bench for the new De Ketelaere and the former Scamacca. In Sassuolo, Berardi out by decision of the club (the player was not present tonight at the Mapei Stadium, apparently out of town, in the pool with his family), only one striker, Pinamonti, with Vita and Vina completing the defensive department that sees Erlic employed and Toljan (Tressoldi disqualified) A crackling start to the match before the game is channeled on balanced tracks with low rhythms. On 3′ Laurientè, after a short corner, tries to surprise Musso who manages by deflecting for a corner. A minute later Atalanta had the opportunity with Koopmeiners who coordinated well, but his conclusion was almost rejected on the line by Erlic. Sassuolo still risks that suffers the initiative of Zappacosta on the right wing. He attacks the defense of Sassuolo in averting the danger brought by Lookman. On 33′ Zapata, too alone, on the right, Consigli deflects for a corner. Sassuolo risks, Lopez takes care of saving almost instinctively on the goal line. Henrique replies, with Musso attentive. After the interval, Atalanta relies on De Ketelaere, greeted by the roar of the Bergamo fans, in place of Zapata, also inserting Ederson for Pasalic. Change in defense in Sassuolo with the exit of Vina for Filippo Messori, class 2004 captain of the under 19 European champion. Decided start of the recovery for Atalanta, even if the Goddess risks big on the conclusion of Laurientè who splinters the crossbar. In the 4th minute De Keteleare immediately came close to scoring with a close-range header after Ruggeri’s cross from the left. Atalanta’s pressure increases, forcing Sassuolo on the defensive. In particular when Scamacca enters and immediately sets up an assist (18′) that Ketelaere doesn’t exploit from an excellent position by hitting the top of the crossbar. The former AC Milan player was very active and will be decisive in the final. In particular in the 33rd minute when he headed in a ball from a corner. The Belgian jumps higher than anyone, anticipates Thorvestd. Great save from Consigli but takes the ball over the line. Regular goal and Atalanta ahead. Finally in the long diagonal recovery from the applause of the other ex, Zortea, which closes the challenge. Sassuolo generous, but it is clear that without Berardi this team has limits.

It wasn’t a walk in Via del Mare, yet in the end Lecce managed to come from behind 2-1 against Lazio on the first day of Serie A. As happened last January 4, after Immobile’s goal in the half hour of the first half , the Salento overturned the result in two minutes with goals by Almqvist and Di Francesco in the final game. The Biancocelesti miss the debut in the league, the first after the farewell of Milinkovic-Savic (his replacement Kamada, immediately starting and protagonist of a discreet debut) losing his head in the last ten minutes. A well-deserved debut for D’Aversa, with the Giallorossi immediately demonstrating that they want to restart from the salvation achieved last year. Lecce opens the match in the best possible way, in the 10th minute they have already found their best chance with Strefezza. The hosts continue to keep the ball until the 26th minute when Immobile confirms the personal tradition of scoring in the first match of the championship. The attacker signs the 0-1 in split, overcoming Falcone and making Luis Alberto’s kissing ball concrete.
Lazio came close to doubling the lead almost at the break, the goalkeeper was good at repelling Lazzari’s shot. The Salento people approach the recovery well as they did at the beginning of the match and are looking for a comeback. They made themselves dangerous twice with Strefezza and Banda before Felipe Anderson devoured his chance to double up. Sarri is furious at the drop in his scores, suffering throughout the second half: the crossbar hit by Immobile in the 82nd minute is not enough to calm him down. Then in two minutes Lecce changes the game. In the 85th minute, Almqvist’s left foot from the edge of the area signs the deserved equaliser. On the other hand, in the 87th minute Di Francesco’s goal, after a beating and hitting in the area, overturned the result and gave the Giallorossi victory, capable of beating the second team in the league a year ago.

Belotti brace on one side, Candreva brace on the other: Roma and Salernitana begin their journey in the new Serie A with a draw. It finished 2-2 at the Olimpico with ‘Gallò scoring his first two absolute goals in the league with the Giallorossi shirt after being left without a goal last season (Var canceled another right at the start of the match), while the former Lazio picks up where it left off just a few months ago, finding two pearls that made Sousa’s team dream for half an hour. In the end, Mourinho’s men (without Captain Pellegrini and Dybala disqualified) failed to make a comeback, thus being forced to leave the first two of the season on the street. Just eight laps from the kick-off and the Giallorossi would immediately unlock the match thanks to Belotti’s blaze based on Cristante’s invention, but the ‘Gallò has a big toe offside and his exultation remains choked in his throat after the intervention of the Var. However, nine more minutes are enough for the Romanist number 11 to find his first absolute seal in the league with Roma: this time it is Llorente who launches deep, Belotti wins a tackle first with Fazio and then with Gyomber, subsequently guessing the left-handed which this time is worth the real 1-0. The team of the suspended Mourinho seems in total control, almost doubling the lead in the 33rd minute with a header from Smalling and the subsequent rebuttal from Mancini on Ochoa’s save, but in the 36th minute they concede an equalizer from Candreva with Salernitana’s first shot on target . The grenade playmaker is the most on the ball of his team and at the beginning of the second half, exactly in the 49th minute, he also surprisingly invents the goal for overtaking the visitors: Bradaric fans from the left, he controls with his right foot and with a left foot around from the edge he beats Rui Patricio by blowing up the away sector. Roma didn’t agree, Mourinho from the stands gave the order to bring in fresh forces and his men charged back with their heads down in search of an equaliser. In the 77th minute El Shaarawy hits a goal crossing, then five minutes later Belotti was still thinking about restoring parity with a header from a corner by the newly entered Paredes. In the final, the hosts try all out for the full booty, but the rearguard from Campania grits its teeth until the last minute to pocket the first point of the season.
