On the one hand, the attack on the American base of Al Udeid in Qatar. On the other, the alarm sirens have also taken place in the past few hours at the air base of Ali at Salem, in Kuwait. To report it are several local and international media, including the Israeli Ynet site. In addition to the base in Kuwait, even US military installations in Bahrein and Qatar were placed in alert, with the immediate activation of the security protocols. After the Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrein also temporarily suspended air traffic.
According to informed sources, the Italian military present in the Ali alla Salem took refuge in the bunkers as a precaution. No consequence, at the moment, also for the Italian military present in Iraq, Erbil and Baghdad, where there are no direct missile attacks.
The same sources underline how the possibility of an Iranian action had already been foreseen, so much so that the military present in areas at risk had already been moved.
Following the insipliance of the situation, the Kuwait government has however announced the temporary closure of its airspace, a decision taken “in the interest of the country’s safety”, as communicated by the general direction of civil aviation.
A precautionary measure that aligns with that already adopted by nearby Bahrein and other countries in the region, worried about the current military escalation.
