La Cava Award: here are the ten works in competition in Bovalino

The works competing in the 9th edition of the «Mario La Cava» literary prize have been announced, promoted and organized by the Municipality of Bovalino, in collaboration with the Caffè Letterario La Cava. Ten literary critics and writers have indicated as many works of Italian fiction, among those published in the year 2025, which will be subjected to the evaluation of the qualified jury composed of Federico Bertoni, Unibo professor, Caterina Verbaro, LUMSA professor, Alessandro Moscè, poet and literary critic, Andrea Carraro, writer, and Pasquale Blefari, councilor for culture of the Municipality of Bovalino.

Here are the works in competition: «The night swimmer» by Adrián Bravi (Nutrimenti), proposed by Antonio Franchini; «Lessons from ruins (reading, writing, living)» by Davide Bregola (Avagliano), proposed by Sonia Serazzi; «Penultimate words of Christ» (Mondadori), proposed by Michele Ruol; «Magnolia Quartet» by Mario Fortunato (Aboca), proposed by Maurizio Fiorino; «Dutch novel» by Marino Magliani (Scritturapura), proposed by Mauro Francesco Minervino; «Cartagloria» by Rosa Matteucci (Adelphi), proposed by Dario Voltolini: «La hunger del Cigno» by Luca Mercadante (Sellerio), proposed by Nicoletta Verna; «The incredible story of Callista Wood who died eight times» by Manuela Montanaro (NEO Edizioni), proposed by Alessandro Cinquegrani; «Lo sbilico» by Alcide Pierantozzi (Einaudi), proposed by Angela Bubba; «The half hour of truth» by Yari Selvetella (Mondadori), proposed by Andrea Caterini.
By March 31st the jurors will have to express their opinion on the 10 works in competition, indicating the finalist trio. During the awards ceremony which will be held in Bovalino on May 9th in the presence of the three authors, the jury will choose the winning work. Also in this edition, the “Readers’ Award” will be awarded, assigned by the members of the Caffè Letterario Mario La Cava, and the special “La Melagrana” Award.
