Four sentences and an acquittal. These are the requests made by the public prosecutor during the hearing at the first instance of the process that sees the bankruptcy of the Caruso Group company at the center and involves the company’s top management accused in various capacities of a series of alleged operations contrary to the law, including bankruptcy.

In particular, the Lametine prosecutor asked for Antonio Pietro Caruso 5 years in prison, for Giuseppe Cristaudo 5 years, for Carolina Caruso (municipal councilor of Forza Italia whose candidacy had ended up in the sights of the parliamentary anti -mafia commission) 4 years of imprisonment and for Anna Maria Caruso 4 years. The prosecutor also asked for the acquittal for Antonella Vitiello.

The defenses – represented by the lawyers Salvatore Cerra, Domenico Villella, Giuseppe Spinelli and Salvatore Gigliotti – in their interventions remarked the extraneousness of the accused from the accusations and indicated a series of defensive ideas. The hearing was then postponed to September 25 for the word to lawyers before the sentence.
