Three emergency medical transports in less than 24 hours. The transport, with a Gulfstream G650 aircraft of the 31st Wing of the Ciampino Air Force, of a little girl who was only one day old ended in the early afternoon of today. The little patient needed to be quickly transferred from Lamezia Terme airport to Naples airport to allow her to be hospitalized at the Colli – Monaldi Specialist Hospital in the Campania capital. The newborn traveled in a special thermal cot for the entire duration of the flight, so as to allow her to be transferred safely and constantly monitored by a medical team. Today’s transport was the third emergency medical transport carried out in less than 24 hours by the Air Force’s emergency response crews. In the previous hours, in fact, a G650 from the 31st Wing had transferred a woman from Lampedusa to Palermo while a C-130J from the 46th Air Brigade had transported a man from Ciampino to Bari. All emergency medical transports were authorized by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers which manages and coordinates the activities of the fleet of state aircraft.
