In the late morning the Siderno firefighters, coordinated by Team Leader Fabio Peluso, they saved a woman who had been dragged with her car by the waters of the Gerace river.
The woman, intent on walking her dogs inside the pine forest, had gotten back into the car due to the sudden rain, but during the journey towards the SS106 she had been overwhelmed by the force of the waters that swelled due to bad weatherwhich has been plaguing the Jonica area in the last few hours. Moments of excitement and panic managed in a professional manner by the provincial operations room of Viale Europa which, having received the request for help, immediately guided the woman, ensuring that she abandoned the car in order to reach safety together with her four dogs. In a few minutes the Siderno fire brigade team intervened on the indicated site, bringing the woman and her animals to safety and dryness, while the fury of the torrent continued to drag the car for over 200 meters, causing it to end up in the sea. There is a lot of fear, but no consequences for the woman and her animal friends.
