The first team of Akademia Sant’Anna carried out, yesterday afternoon, the last training session on the PalaRescifina surface. In the evening, managers of Akademia Sant’Anna, together with a group of volunteers, took care of dismantling part of the playing field and, at the same time, prepared panels to cover and protect the taraflex for the upcoming national table football championship.

Consequence of this, the lack of possibility to use the facility for the team’s daily training sessions in view of the imminent and delicate away match in Castelfranco. Currently, the situation appears to be critical as, to date, despite the numerous discussions that have taken place, the Municipal Administration of Messina only communicated yesterday the possibility of using a structure, however not considered suitable for carrying out training sessions and for a limited period of time compared to real needs.

The Akademia Sant’Anna company was therefore forced to find adequate solutions on its own. In this case, the club’s leaders extend heartfelt thanks to the president of the Messina VolleyballMario Rizzo; with a great sense of fair play and, above all, “responsibility”, he gave up his training sessions, scheduled for yesterday and today afternoon, to allow Akademia Sant’Anna the use of the attached gym.

The fact that the PalaRescifina facility is used to hold events suitable for enhancing the image of the area and supporting its economic fabric confirms it as a fundamental point of reference for the cultural, sporting and social life of the entire area. The events that take place there certainly have a significant impact not only for the local community, but for the entire district, contributing to the economic, cultural and social growth of Messina and the surrounding municipalities. However, the company believes that this legitimate use must not in any way prejudice the competitive activity of the club, involved in the national A2 championship, with the consequent investment of considerable human and economic resources. The very participation of a local club in a tournament of such importance should be considered a source of prestige and worthy of adequate consideration, on a par with musical or other events.
