With the summer transfer window now over, Crotone is back to focusing on the championship. The team, after finishing and lunch together, will leave for the Campania retreat, since tomorrow evening they will play away in Cava dei Tirreni. «I feel obliged to thank the president, the general manager and the sports director for the acumen and sacrifices they have made during the transfer campaign – says the rossoblù coach Emilio Longo -. A very well managed transfer campaign, they managed to lower the wage bill and give me an important group at my disposal. I thank them and this instills in me and the boys who have remained the right responsibility with respect to the ownership and the management».
Crotone arrives in Cava dei Tirreni looking for confirmation of the good things they showed on the pitch against Altamura. «I am banking a lot on themotivational aspect – Longo emphasizes – on the continuity that these guys must have in motivation. We know well that the work to be done is long, each game must be prepared in the best possible way. At this moment there are no reliable starting grids. We have only played one game, and therefore we must be good at re-proposing ourselves and having as a mental basis the fact that from each game we want to get the most in terms of performance and motivation. Only in this way can we get results”.
With the market closed and with the certainty of who remains in the squad, now we can work with everyone even better than we have done so far: “We can do it because we are all motivated – concludes the coach – We can trace a path, but as the old saying goes: “I can lead a camel to the fountain but I cannot force it to drink”. The desire to drink must be of our players. External motivations have value, but internal ones are fundamental. I must be able to ignite internal motivation”.
