In recent days, during an environmental surveillance service carried out by the Carabinieri “Parco” unit of Mammola, the military personnel recovered a stray dog found along Provincial Road no. 5 in the municipality of Cinquefrondi. In particular, the military noticed in the locality of Monte Cucolo, an area within the perimeter of the Aspromonte National Park, an example of Brittany Spaniel that he appeared very disoriented.
The Forestry Carabinieri, who intervened promptly, immediately secured the dog, avoiding risks related to traffic or connected with the surrounding wooded environment.
We then proceeded to detect the animal’s identifying microchip to report it to the owner and promptly activate the required procedures, contacting the competent Veterinary Service and the local authorities concerned for the recovery of the dog entrusted to the specialized staff of the kennel affiliated with the Municipality of Cinquefrondi.
This activity is part of the environmental protection and territorial protection action carried out by the Carabinieri Forestry Units present within the vast Aspromonte National Park.
