French President Emmanuel Macron and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky have signed a letter of intent for Kiev’s future purchase of up to 100 Rafale fighter jets, air defense systems and drones. According to the Elysée, this agreement, which is projected “over a time horizon of approximately ten years”, provides for possible future contracts for “the acquisition by Ukraine of new French defense equipment”: “approximately 100 Rafales, with related armaments”, as well as other armaments, including the new generation Samp-T air defense system under development, radar systems and drones.
