The assembly of CGIL delegates yesterday decided on a general strike for December 12th, against the Government’s budget law. The announcement was made today during a union initiative in Florence by Fulvio Fammoni, president of the CGIL general assembly. The general secretary Maurizio Landini also participates in the initiative.

Landini: “We need to increase wages and this move doesn’t do it”

“We believe that this is an unfair, wrong maneuver and we want to change it.” This was stated by Maurizio Landini, general secretary of the CGIL, speaking on the sidelines of the delegates’ assembly in Florence in which the general strike for Friday 12 December was announced. “The fundamental emergency at the moment – he said – is wages: there is a need to increase wages, this maneuver does not do that”.

Meloni’s irony: “On which day of the week will it fall?”
