Edoardo Alfieri (Italy, M65) was named best walking master athlete of 2024 by EMA (European Masters Athletics)!
Faced with this communication from the EMA, the largest European organization of masters athletics, the Asd Centro Sportivo Giovanile Catanzaro Lido is “very honored and happy for the triumph achieved by our standard bearer, the only one in Italy, to whom this nomination will be decreed” .
Like in a film we retrace the exploits of our Edoardo Alfieri in 2024: Italian vice champion – silver medal in the Italian indoor race walking championships in Ancona from Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th February 2024; EMAC indoor master European champion mt. 3000 and mt. 5000 in Torun, Poland from 17 to 23 March 2024 – 3 gold medals (2 individual) + 1 Italian team medal
European Masters Non Stadia Championships (Emacns) 2024 in Porto Santo from 15 to 19 May 2024 – 1 individual European title 10km. 1 bronze medal in the 20km and 2 European team titles = total 3 golds + 1 bronze; Italian vice champion – silver medalist at the Italian track walking championships in Rome 06/22/2024
World Masters Athletics Championships (WMAC) :- Gothenburg from 14 to 26 August 2024: bronze medal in the 10 km walk and their team bronze medal in the 5000 meters double gold in the 20 km walk; Italian vice champion – Silver medal for Edoardo Alfieri from Catanzaro at the 20 km Italian master road walking championships in Prato.
