The “green berets” of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Catanzaro and the anti-drug dog units of the Pronto Impiego Company of Lamezia Terme carried out targeted services in the city during which a Gambian national with a residence permit was checked and searched at the Lamezia Terme railway station.
Inside a backpack, approximately 140 grams of marijuana were found, which prompted the military to also search the man’s home, where the Guardia di Finanza found a further 28 grams of marijuana and 11 ecstasy pills.as well as two electronic scales and a knife which, according to investigators, was used to divide doses of drugs.
Following the operations, the Guardia di Finanza seized the narcotic substance and arrested the man. Subjected to trial with a direct procedure, the Lamezia Terme Court in a single-judge composition validated the provision and applied the precautionary measure of the obligation to report to the judicial police for three days a week.
