A presumably malicious fire destroyed, in the night between Saturday and Sunday, two cars owned by the entrepreneur Pietro Bloise, a popular restaurateur and esteemed teacher in the field of hotel and tourism training. The cars, parked at the entrance to the Bloise family’s house in Marina di Sibari, were soon completely destroyed by flames, finally put out by two teams of firefighters from Rossano and Castrovillari. Local police officers and the Carabinieri of the Cassano all’Ionio company were also on site and immediately started investigations into the incident. Already in recent years the Bloise family had been victims of arson attacks.

“This latest episode – comments the mayor of Cassano all’Ionio, Gianpaolo Iacobini – must be firmly condemned and requires incisive intervention by the police and judiciary, in whom full trust is reconfirmed with the hope that the authors of the vile gesture can be brought to justice as soon as possible”. The mayor of Cassano adds: “To Pietro Bloise and his family members, and among them also the municipal councilor Federica D’Elia, I express solidarity and closeness, on my personal behalf, of the municipal administration and of the entire Cassanese community. What has happened forcefully reiterates the need to protect the healthy economic productive fabric from any interference. While waiting for the investigation to run its course, clarifying every aspect of the matter, we will promote an intensification of controls in the territory and, more specifically, in Marina di Sibari, to increasingly reaffirm legality and safety in every area”.
