The regional vote is like an earthquake that shakes the local political system with long waves that rewrite balances and deadlines. And not only in the Regional Council, where the elected representatives are preparing to cross the threshold of Palazzo Campanella. There will also be consequences in the Municipalities, where the vote has triggered a domino effect that will force five centers to hold new local elections. The cause is not political, of course, but exclusively legal and must be sought in article 65 of the Consolidated Law on local authorities. A rule that sets the seal on the incompatibility between the office of regional councilor and that of mayor.
