A plaque not to be forgotten, even if no one, especially in his Lighthouse Tower, has ever forgotten Giuseppe Sanò. Everyone called him Captain Peloro, he was a district councilor, always in love with his village. Giuseppe Sanò died in May 2020 during a dive, he was an example of the commitment and battles he carried out for Torre Faro and since July last year right in the heart of the seaside village there is an inclusive park created through a participatory democracy project. A renovated space with new flooring, benches and relaxation and play areas for children. And in that space yesterday a plaque was discovered in memory of “Captain Peloro”. The moment in which some poems written by Giuseppe himself were read by Giovanna Manetto was emotional, preceding the moment of the unveiling of the plaque, “in memory of those who have put in so much effort and love to make their territory more liveable and to whom we ideally dedicate the rebirth of this place of Torre Faro, renovated with the funds of Participatory Democracy”, explained the organizers and promoters of the initiative. Mayor Federico Basile also participated in this moment yesterday.
