It will be held Wednesday 22 October at 7.30 pm, in the courtyard of Rectorate of the University of Messina, la inauguration ceremony of the new ambulance of the Misericordia of Messina, named after Sara Campanella, the young 22-year-old student originally from Misilmeri, killed last year March 31st upon leaving the University Hospital.
The dedication, strongly desired by governor of the Misericordia, Pietro Delia, together with the governance of the association, was born from the desire to transform the pain of Sara’s loss into a gesture of love and service towards the community.
“So that his memory continues to travel at the service of the community” – reads the official motivation that will accompany the emergency vehicle – the ambulance will be used daily in emergency and assistance activities in the area.
The ceremony will be attended by mayor of Messina, Federico Basile, the rector of the University, Giovanna Spatari, theArchbishop Msgr. Giovanni Accolla, i family members of Sara Campanella, the president of SEUS 118, Riccardo Castro, one delegation from the 118 operations center of Messina, il director of the Emergency Department of the Polyclinic, Giovanni Di Maio, and the spiritual corrector of Mercy, Father Giovanni Pelleriti.
Previously, at 19 at the Apollo cinema, it will be screened on docufilm “Invisible Threads” by Fabio Schifilliti, as part of the project “Beyond the shadows” promoted by the Copernicus Institute. The documentary tells the stories of Graziella Recovery e Sara Campanella, two young broken lives, united by the courage and hope that continue to inspire the Messina community.
