This is what emerged during the meeting of the municipal price control commission, chaired by the councilor with responsibility for Citizen Services Massimiliano Minutoli.
The note offers a concise analysis of the factors that contributed to determining the more marked price dynamics of centrally recorded goods and services in December 2025:
Electricity and network gas: there was a cyclical decrease in city gas and natural gas both in the protected market (-2.2%; -18.0% trend) and in the free market (-0.1%; -10.6% trend), attributable to a reduction in the wholesale price. However, electricity on the free market recorded an increase (+1.1%; -6.6% on a yearly basis).
Telephony and communication services: there is a decrease in mobile telephony services (-0.5%; -3.2% trend), due to the remodulation of the offer by an operator, and in fixed broadband telephony services (-0.1%; +0.6% trend), against an increase in internet services on the mobile network (+0.7%; -0.6% trend).
Pharmaceutical products: this month there was a decrease in class A drugs – NIC/FOI (-1.5% and -2% trend), an increase in the price of supplements (0.5%; 0.3% trend).
Transport services: there is a general increase in prices in transport, coinciding with the Christmas holidays. In particular, in air transport there is a cyclical increase which is greatest in intercontinental flights (+51.6%; -2.3% trend), followed by national flights (+41.9%; +15.1% trend), and by European ones (+17.8%; +1.5% trend). There is also an increase in national rail transport (+0.5%; -1.1% trend), due to the lower availability of commercial offers for high-speed and intercity services, and in maritime transport (+3.9%; +2.3% trend), largely due to internal destinations, in particular towards Sardinia and Sicily.
Tourist and recreational activities: there is also a general increase in this sector, due to the Christmas holidays. In particular, holiday packages are increasing, both national ones (+12.1%; +4.3%), mainly in the mountain and wellness segments, and international ones (+1.5%; +3.1% trend), mainly towards Southern Africa, Continental Europe, and Eastern Europe. There is also an increase in holiday villages, campsites, youth hostels and similar (+0.3%; +6.1% trend), especially in the marine and mountain layers, and agritourisms (+2.1%), mainly in the Northern and Central regions. Among recreational activities, the increase in ski lifts is notable (+12.7%; +3.6% trend).
Culture: there is a decrease in national newspapers (-0.1%; +2.7% trend) and periodicals (-0.4%; +1.3% trend), due to the different offer of attachments, compared to the increase in local newspapers (+0.2%; +2.0% trend), due to the different offer of attachments and the increase in the price, both of the paper and online versions, of a local newspaper. There was also a slight increase in pay TV and video streaming subscriptions (+0.1%; +1.8% trend), following the remodulation of the offer by an operator.
