Chicco and Jenny, brother and sister, were the dogs of the Falcata area. They grew up living in La Falce, near the port, lovingly cared for by Mrs. Sara for fifteen years. A week ago they disappeared into thin air, leaving the lady in anguish who continues to go to the usual place every afternoon, bringing food and water. He calls them until he screams in the hope that they will turn up somewhere like they have done for fifteen years. Months ago, Tommy, another brother who was never seen again, also disappeared. Sara, who everyone knows as Chicco and Jenny’s carer and before that Tommy’s, hasn’t been able to find peace for seven days. She is convinced that someone took them, which is why she asked volunteers from animal rights associations for help by spreading the word. He also contacted the various shelters and called the Municipality.
«I want to know – she says anguished – what happened to them. They would not have voluntarily left here. This is their home. Something happened. The place where they were placed is not easily accessible also due to the dense vegetation. There is a fence and the gates are padlocked. To look for them, together with another volunteer, we climbed through brambles and brushwood, but nothing. I wonder who could have been interested in taking them. They are now elderly dogs who have always lived on the street. If I were to find them again I will immediately ask for adoption. I haven’t done it in recent years because I have three other dogs at home but not a single day has passed that I haven’t gone to them even with a fever and during the lockdown I requested permission to go out. Even during the pandemic I didn’t miss a day.”
