The ASP of Messina has obtained the renewal of the authorization and institutional accreditation for the complex operational unit of transfusion medicine of the “Barone Romeo” hospital in Patti, together with its branches: the SIMT of Milazzo, the SIMT of Sant’Agata di Militello, the collection unit of Lipari and the blood bank of Patti.
The regional decree which formalizes the provision certifies that all the structures involved fully comply with the requirements established by national and regional regulations regarding safety, quality and efficiency. A result that represents a guarantee for citizens and confirms the constant commitment of the ASP of Messina in providing high-level transfusion services.
“Institutional accreditation is not a formal fulfillment – underlines the head of the services department and director of the transfusion medicine unit of Patti, Gaetano Crisà – but constitutes recognition of the team work that is carried out daily to guarantee high standards of quality, safety and clinical appropriateness. It is a result that enhances the staff, strengthens the trust of citizens and consolidates the provincial transfusion network”.
Satisfaction was also expressed by the strategic management of the ASP of Messina, composed of the general director Giuseppe Cucci, the health director Giuseppe Ranieri Trimarchi and the administrative director Giancarlo Niutta, who underlined how “the renewal of the accreditation consolidates an integrated transfusion system, capable of responding to the needs of the entire province of Messina with safety, quality and continuity of service. It is a result that rewards the professionalism of the operators and strengthens the bond of trust with the community”.
The renewal, lasting two years, directly involves the offices of Patti, Milazzo, Sant’Agata di Militello and Lipari, as well as the Patti blood bank, an essential facility for mobile blood collection. The Messina ASP will continue its growth path by focusing on training, technological innovation and continuous improvement, with the aim of maintaining and exceeding the standards achieved.
