Messina, environmental restoration and Eco-Park: mobilization for the former Sanderson

The suggestion of the Eco-Park, which could also be the largest urban park in the city of Messina. The environmental remediation interventions, to be started in the shortest possible time, once there has been certainty of the allocation of adequate financial resources, at least according to the regional government’s announcements on the 65 million allocated to the city of Messina, of which 25 for the former Sanderson and 40 for the redevelopment.
These are the topics being discussed by the Committee which is fighting for the redevelopment of the former Pistunina citrus farm and which has called a public meeting for this evening, at 7.15pm, in the premises of the Santa Domenica church in Tremestieri. The Committee also officially requested a meeting with the mayor Federico Basile to explore in detail the line of action that the Municipality intends to carry forward for the future of one of the most precious portions of territory, not only in the southern area, but in the entire city.
«The Eco-Park should really be built – writes the Committee –. We learned from the article published by the Gazzetta del Sud that the future of the former Sanderson is traced and in line with one of the proposals that, in the last two years, our Committee has built together with the residents of Messina Sud for the future of the area.
