Upon entering his shop in Viale San Martino, Riccardo Chirico always greeted you with a smile that ideally embraced and welcomed the person before the customer. He passed away this morning, at the end of a short illness, which took him away from his loved ones, his wife Marcella and his children Marzio and Cristiana. Riccardo Chirico has always been, for decades, a point of reference for trade. His shops on Viale San Martino have dressed generations of people from Messina who found quality, courtesy, competence and the right advice on the right item for each season from him, always supported by the constant and discreet presence of his wife Marcella.

A passion passed on to his children Marzio and Cristiana who followed in their father’s footsteps, with the shops in Via dei Mille and who continue that business with the same grace and competence. For some time, Riccardo had only been a “supervisor” of his children’s activities, proud of the path they had taken and the results they had achieved. He will be missed by this city, which loses another piece of its history.

The funeral will be held tomorrow morning, at 12, at the church of Santa Caterina.
