The “Cosenza–Bolzano Food Express” campaign was officially presented today, at the Delegation of the Calabria Region in Rome, an initiative promoted by the Chambers of Commerce of Cosenza and Bolzano in collaboration with Trenitalia, aimed at enhancing the agri-food, cultural and landscape excellences of the two territories.

The press conference was attended by the President of the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce, Michl Ebner, of the Cosenza Chamber, Klaus Algieri, and the Trenitalia Sales Director, Francesco Cacciapuoti.

In the month of November on board the Trenitalia (FS Group) Frecciarossa trains, travelers will be able to discover, through an advertising campaign on monitors, views, landscapes and typical products of the provinces of Cosenza and Bolzano, Made in Italy excellences capable of narrating the cultural and gastronomic identity of the territories.

The words of President Klaus Algieri opened the press conference:
“With the Cosenza–Bolzano/Bolzano-Cosenza Food Express project we want to transform the journey into an opportunity to discover and enhance our landscape, cultural and agri-food heritage. The collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Bolzano and with Trenitalia allows us to bring, for the first time ever, the excellence of Calabria directly on the tracks that connect South and North, creating a bridge between territories, economies and traditions.

An important aspect concerns tourism: in 2024 over 42 thousand travelers from Bolzano chose Calabria and more than 63 thousand Calabrians visited the province of Bolzano, numbers destined to grow thanks to this new route. It is an initiative that tells the true essence of our land, strengthening the identity of the territories and the cohesion of the country”

Michl Ebner, President of the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce, commented:
“The Food Express initiative, promoted by the Chambers of Commerce of Bolzano and Cosenza, is a concrete example of collaboration between North and South, capable of transforming territorial differences into shared value. Bringing the excellence of our territories on board high-speed trains means making the culinary and cultural traditions of Calabria and Alto Adige travel on a single track. A way to tell, through the language of taste, respect for biodiversity and for agri-food production based on quality and sustainability.”

During the press conference, after greetings from the Head of the Department for Infrastructure and Transport Networks, Francesco Cacciapuoti, Sales Director of Trenitalia, spoke:
“With our support for the “Cosenza–Bolzano Food Express” campaign we confirm Trenitalia’s commitment to enhancing the food and wine, tourism and cultural beauties of our country. A heritage that is not only made up of flavors and products, but of knowledge, traditions and values handed down for generations. Just as the uniqueness of Italian food characterizes the territories, the Made in Italy excellence of the Frecciarossa unites them with increasingly faster, more efficient and respectful connections of the landscapes crossed.”

The initiative is part of the path started with the Framework Agreement between the two entities in 2019 and strengthened with the Supplementary Agreement of 2024, which institutionalized the North–South/South–North Symposium for the growth of the country, a strategic and annual event, destined to become a privileged place for the formulation of programmatic proposals for national development and for the reduction of socio-economic asymmetries between North and South.

The Food Express therefore represents a natural evolution of this common journey, a concrete, visible project that reaches citizens and tourists every day through high-speed trains, strengthening ties between territories and promoting Italian excellence.
