Next week will be the first move, but it won’t be one of the most awaited by Messina fans. Racing Group will strike a blow after the silence of these weeks, but it is the agreement now reached with Messina Futsal for the change of name and the entry into the club of Fabrizio Caratozzolo who recently reached the Serie A2 Elite. The agreement is there, the deed is signed, we are now waiting for the registration of the new SSD and sending it to the League for affiliation. It is one of the steps planned in recent months for which concrete action has been reached, just as we continue to insist on the project of launching a women’s team in the city, even if the white smoke has not yet arrived with Unime, with which relations had been initiated.
In short, we are working on the “collateral” but not yet on the central axis which certainly remains the ACR’s first team. Fresh from the dramatic relegation and in need of an electric shock to revive the environment after two years to be totally forgotten, in which we have seen and swallowed absolutely everything.
The square would immediately like ambitious moves, corporate structuring and the launch of a new technical project that is also adaptable to the different categories of potential membership: Serie D if the path to repechage were to be opened or Excellence in the case of negative results.
On the other hand, recent years have always been characterized by delayed starts which have then inevitably influenced the effectiveness and performance of the team. So finally we hope that things will change, also to send a signal to the other competitors, whatever they are: that Messina “is back” and is serious.
We reiterate it, but we believe that the owners also know. We urgently need a general manager, a sporting director, a coach: a staff that will start working towards next season, even if the calendar still shows June 5th. Other realities are moving, they are already starting to imagine their first choices and we must not be caught unprepared, also to avoid missing opportunities. Clarity is needed, a conference on the programs, given that since May 10th no one from the ownership has deigned to speak officially, except via social media.
We are probably awaiting the return of President Justin Davis to the city, expected at the end of the month. Also because it will be necessary to define the documentation for registration for the next tournament, while waiting to understand if it will be possible, as mentioned, to aim for a return “at the table” in the fourth series. Maybe we are stalling on the operational level while waiting to know which series we will play in? But that would mean waiting until mid-July. In any case, communicating it would already be something.
Instead, very little filters through: a communication modus operandi now widespread even in other cities when there are foreign properties involved (Milan, Rome but also the nearby Catania and Palermo, for example), more “international” in style but perhaps very far from the Italian way of experiencing football. And for this reason probably not understood or misunderstood.
