Progressive area parties make progress on candidacies for the local elections at the end of May in Sicily. In Messina the Democratic Party has officially proposed the candidacy of Antonella Russo for mayor, a name that is added to that of Dafne Musolino put forward by Italia Viva.

In Enna formalized by the Dem Vladimiro Crisafulli, while in Agrigento the name in the running is that of Michele Sodano, proposed by Controcorrente. The meeting lasted just over an hour, the center-left parties took 48 hours to decide. Beyond the names proposed in the three provincial capitals that will go to the vote in the spring, the political element, the coalition points out, is that all the shareholders of the progressive area took part in this evening’s table, despite some fibrillation in recent days: Pd, M5s, Controcorrente, Avs and Italia Viva.

The provincial leadership of the Democratic Party which had been convened for this morning was suspended and adjourned until 9.30pm this evening, because in addition to that of Antonella Russo, the name of Alessandro Russo also remains on the field.
