Yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 25 June, in the heart of Piazza Cairoli, the first Youngme Point was officially inaugurated: a physical space dedicated to young people under 35the result of the Youngme project, promoted by the Department of Youth Policies of the Municipality of Messina with the support of the Messina Social City.
The space, located in one of the most popular areas of the city, is proposed as a concrete point of reference to listen to the needs of young people, accompany them on growth and orientation paths, and create direct contact between institutions and new generations.
Starting this afternoon, the Youngme Point will be open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 17.00 to 19.00, with activities dedicated to the presentation of the project and individual interviews to know young people and collect their needs.
Among the planned activities:
Weekly workshops:
– Monday, Wednesday and Friday: work orientation, support in the drafting of the curriculum and simulation of interviews;
– Tuesday and Thursday: storytelling meetings, sharing of experiences and comparisons with professionals, associations and experts in the area.

With Youngme you take a concrete step forward in the construction of active policies capable of intercepting real needs and offering effective answers“, Said the mayor Federico Basileunderlining the importance of long -term programming for the new generations.
The councilor for youth policies, Liana Cannatahighlighted: “Youngme, from the creation of the portal dedicated to young people with a strategic measure to encourage youth occupation and social inclusion. This evolution has materialized through different phases, culminating in the strategic measure of the Youngme project – Young people in the center, financed as part of the National Metro Plus and average city program South 2021-2027, Priority 4. Youngme represents the evolution of a path on youth policies in the city“.
The president of Messina Social City, Valeria Asquiniadded: “With Youngme, we commit ourselves to providing young people not a simple service, but a concrete opportunity for growth, both on an educational and personal level. Our special company operates with constant dedication, using a qualified multidisciplinary team to support, orient and accompany young people in such a significant phase of their lives. Our presence in central places such as Piazza Cairoli strengthens our commitment to be an integral part of the daily life of young people in the area“.
To conclude the evening, Carl Brave’s engaging live. The inauguration of the Youngme Point was in fact perfectly inserted in the artist’s street tour #2, who chose Messina as its only Sicilian stop. The concert recalled hundreds of young people in Piazza Cairoli, transforming the event into an authentic moment of music, participation and youth protagonism. A non -random decision, but the result of a forward -looking regulation approved in recent years by the City Council, on the proposal of the Cannata councilor. A regulation that has been able to enhance the involvement of local artists, creating a virtuous bridge between administrative vision and creative energy of the city. Carl Brave’s experience in Messina is a clear example of how administrative acts can actually translate concrete and positive on the quality of urban life, especially for young people. He demonstrates how good political management can not only attract national resonance events, but also generate new opportunities and vitality in the city fabric.
