The activities to combat drug dealing by the Carabinieri of the Messina Sud Company continue unabated. Yesterday, the military intensified preventive services throughout the entire territory of competence, with extraordinary checks in the areas considered most sensitive.
During the operations, which included several personal and home searches, two separate arrests were made against a 29-year-old and a 65-year-old, both accused of detention for the purpose of dealing.
In detail, in the home of the 29-year-old, already known to the police, the police found over 100 grams of narcotics including hashish and marijuana, hidden in a kitchen cabinet, together with material considered useful for packaging the doses.
The quantity seized from the 65-year-old was larger: at his home, the military discovered about half a kilo of drugs – including marijuana and hashish – hidden in a bucket in the relevant garden. A precision scale and material for dividing the substances were also found.
At the disposal of the judicial authority, the 29-year-old was placed under house arrest, while the 65-year-old was transferred to the Messina Gazzi prison.
